Who flies to Bimini
Which airline you can book depends on where you start. Times, days and fares are on each airline's own site, and airlines change them, so this page links to each one and leaves the numbers there.
Silver Airways, which older guides list for Bimini, stopped flying in 2025.
From Miami
American Airlines flies from Miami International to South Bimini Airport, about 64 miles in a straight line. In a flight search, that's MIA to BIM.
Tropic Ocean Airways, whose scheduled seaplane flights leave from Fort Lauderdale, also flies private charters out of Miami.
From Fort Lauderdale
Aztec Airways and Tropic Ocean Airways both fly from Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International, and they land on different islands.
Aztec Airways runs scheduled flights and charters out of its private terminal at the airport, and South Bimini is on its list of scheduled destinations. Its booking form shows the trip as Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to South Bimini (BIM).
Tropic Ocean Airways flies seaplanes, and its scheduled flights from the Sheltair terminal at the same airport land on North Bimini itself, on the water at the seaplane base. On its booking form that's Fort Lauderdale Sheltair (FLL) to Bimini North Seaplane Base (NSB). It also flies private charters to Bimini from Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Palm Beach, Naples, Tampa and, in its words, anywhere else in Florida.
From Nassau
Western Air lists flights between Nassau and Bimini. We couldn't confirm a current schedule for the route, so ask Western Air whether it's flying before you plan around it.
Where flights land
Alice Town is on North Bimini, and only one of the two landing points is.
South Bimini Airport carries the IATA code BIM and the ICAO code MYBS, and it's where American's flights from Miami and Aztec's from Fort Lauderdale land. As the name says, it's on South Bimini. Alice Town is about 2.6 miles away as the crow flies, and the way there crosses the harbor entrance on a short local ferry, from the South Bimini ferry dock to the government ferry dock in Alice Town: about a third of a mile of water.
Tropic Ocean's seaplanes land at the seaplane base, IATA code NSB, on North Bimini, the same island as Alice Town. Yet it's the farther of the two from town. As the crow flies, the base is about four miles from Alice Town, against the airport's 2.6. Fisherman's Village, where the ferry from Fort Lauderdale lands beside Resorts World Bimini on Bimini Bay, is about two miles from the base.

Travel documents
The flight home is an entry into the United States by air, so U.S. Customs and Border Protection's list for air travel applies. For a U.S. citizen that's a valid U.S. passport, or a Trusted Traveler card (NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST), a U.S. military ID on official orders or a U.S. Merchant Mariner document on official business. Children present their own passport. The getting-there guide has both of CBP's lists in full, by air and by sea.
The Bahamas sets its own entry rules through its Department of Immigration. Ask the airline you book with what it checks at boarding.
